The representatives of Makhinjauri Maritime Lyceum celebrated the date symbolically. They visited the charity fund "Yalkani" and gave sweets to the beneficiaries.

The event was planned by the Public Relations Department of Makhinjauri Maritime Lyceum.

Children's Day has been celebrated on June 1 worldwide since 1950.

The decision was made in November 1949. The UN supported this initiative and declared the protection of children's rights, life and health as one of the priority areas of its activities.

History does not explicitly state why this day is celebrated on June 1, but according to one of the versions, in 1925, the Chinese Consul General in San Francisco gathered Chinese children left without care and organized a holiday. It happened on June 1, just as a conference dedicated to children was being held in Geneva.

International Children's Day has its symbolic flag. Human figures of different colors are placed around the earth on a green background.

On this day, mass, entertainment and cultural events are organized for children in different countries, as well as charity events. On this day, they especially try to help orphanages, sick, disabled children, homeless, needy families, families with many children.
