An event dedicated to Mother's Day was held in Makhinjauri Maritime Lyceum. The event was attended by 10th and 11th grade students of the Lyceum.

The event dedicated to Mother's Day was organized by the Integrated Department of Georgian Language and Literature and Foreign Languages.

Mother's Day is celebrated differently in different countries worldwide. The history of its establishment is also different.

The United States is considered the birthplace of "Mother's Day". The first attempt to celebrate this day was in 1972. Activist Julia Wards expressed her desire to be a holiday that would unite all mothers in the fight for peace. She organized a number of actions for this purpose, but to no avail. Only later, in 1907, Anna Jarvis, who is considered one of the founders of this day, began to write official letters to officials that it was necessary to establish Mother's Day. Her efforts were successful in 1910, and Mother's Day was officially celebrated in the state of Virginia for the first time. Four years later, it was officially adopted and following that the holiday is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year.

Mother's Day in Georgia is celebrated on March 3. It was established by the country's first president, Zviad Gamsakhurdia.
