On 28 September 2026, a public lecture titled “Sukhumi - Pain, Memory and Unbreakable Spirit” was held at the Makhinjauri Maritime School in commemoration of the fall of Sukhumi. The event was attended by school pupils and students enrolled in the integrated vocational education programme.
The aim of the meeting was to revive historical memory, reflect on the events of the War in Abkhazia and honour the memory of those who lost their lives defending Georgia’s territorial integrity.
