On 30 October 2026, as part of Black Sea Week, 12th-grade students of Makhinjauri Maritime School carried out an educational and research activity. The main aim of the project was to promote marine environmental protection and raise environmental awareness among young people.

The students researched interesting facts about the Black Sea and prepared a wall newspaper entitled “Black Sea Chronicles”. They also delivered presentations on important topics, including the biodiversity and ecosystems of the Black Sea, current environmental threats such as plastic pollution and unsustainable fishing, and practical everyday ways to protect the marine environment.

The school project was coordinated by Geography teacher Sophio Nemsadze.
